Job Title: Test Engineer
Job Description

As a Test Engineer within the Solution Validation Services (SVS), you will play a critical role in validating complex customer-specific networks and accelerating the adoption of new technologies and solutions. The SVS team is dedicated to delivering expertise across a wide range of products and third-party solutions, ensuring successful implementation for enterprise and service provider customers.

ResponsibilitiesEngage with customers and stakeholders to plan and execute validation engagements.Support next-generation ACI and Data Center implementations for enterprise and service provider customers.Validate new design solutions to meet customer requirements.Drive requirements discussions, analyze test requirements, build test lab configurations, author and execute test plans, and document findings.Identify key issues and gaps, working with engineering and delivery teams to resolve them.Develop and integrate new technologies into lab environments.Collaborate with Solution Architects from Delivery and Sales teams on future initiatives.Innovate to gain efficiency and accelerate validation efforts.Identify and facilitate new business growth opportunities.Collaborate with other engineers to ensure successful project delivery.Essential SkillsDeep technical expertise with core routing and switching, ACI, and Nexus Data Center technologies.Strong customer interaction and consulting skills.Ability to articulate complex concepts in easy-to-understand language.Proficiency in customer-facing discussions and technologies.Programming experience or familiarity with Python and Robot Framework.Routing and Switching experience with R&S and/or DC CCNA required, CCNP preferred.Strong knowledge of NX-OS, IOS-XE, IOS-XR, and IOS configuration.Knowledge of Cisco DC and Enterprise platforms, including N2K-N9K, ASR1K-9K, ISR, and Wireless Platforms.Test and validation experience in hardware or software.Hands-on experience with IXIA and/or SPIRENT tools.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in ACI, Data Center Technologies, Routing & Switching.Strong communication and customer-facing skills (written, verbal, and formal presentation).Knowledge of Industry Test Tools.Ability to debug and troubleshoot complex network problems.Typically requires a Bachelor's degree plus 4-5 years of related experience or equivalent experience.Work Environment

The role is based in RTP, offering a dynamic and collaborative work environment. The position allows for interaction with customers, if desired, and involves working alongside other skilled engineers. The work may involve manual and automated testing, utilizing tools like Python/Jupyter. While a Data Center background is preferred, candidates can ramp up on IXIA/Spirent tools.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $45.00/hr.
