Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Network Inspector to join our team in Gisborne. You will be the ‘eyes and ears’ of the network. You’ll be responsible for the coordination of an effective and efficient network inspection regime of new assets, undertaking routine inspections to identify and record defects whilst monitoring maintenance works and cyclic patrol teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Road inspections, recording fault defects and proposing suitable solutionsConduct field-based data collection and asset inspections, input geographic data into spatial asset management systems such as RAMM, and support surveying and spatial science tasks through map preparation and the use of surveying equipmentIdentification of risks and corrective actions where requiredAssist in the development of maintenance programmes and provide support to our maintenance teamDirect cyclic crews to ensure works are completed efficiently and audit completed work with a focus on quality and safetyEnsure project operations achieve a superior level of safety performanceRespond to customer queries and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders
Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills
Along with your organised and systematic approach, you’ll have a proven track record in network inspection and fault identification/treatment selection, preferably within the maintenance roading industry. You will have the confidence to drive projects, manage relationships and activity to achieve targets. We’d also value:
A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, or equivalent (desirable but not essential)At least 2 years of skilled work experience in a similar role can replace a formal qualificationClear communication skills with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders.Shows willingness/provides solutions to assist with a “continual improvement” philosophyCommitment to a high standard of Health & SafetyMust be self-motivated, energetic, proactive, and results-orientated with an ability to problem solve, plan, listen and make decisions.
