Network Engineer II
This role requires the ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.

Do you have what it takes to assist in the planning, forecasting, and implementation of resource requirements for Spectrum’s network systems? As a Network Engineer II, you will be responsible for monitoring protocol compatibility standards, developing and implementing network enhancements, and making recommendations for improvement. You will also be responsible for implementation of network architecture and designs. All of this will directly support our mission to keep millions connected.


How You’ll Make an Impact

Participate in network planning, network architecture design and engineeringIntegrate communication architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission and signaling links and protocols into complete network configurationsEvaluate new products, performs network problem resolutionAssist in the development and documentation of technical standardsImplement approved methods of procedureImplement and assist in designing protocol compatibility standards, develops and implements network enhancements and makes recommendations for improvementWork on projects/systems/issues of medium to high complexity surrounding network planning, configuration and optimizationProvide tier support across organizations. Works on one or more projects as a project team member, occasionally as a project team leadCoach less experienced staffAdhere to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable

What You’ll Bring to Spectrum

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experienceExperience:3+ years of data network experienceSkills:Ability to read, write and speak the English languageAbility to use personal computer and software applications and Microsoft OfficeDemonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and learn new technology quicklyDemonstrated knowledge of related industry specifications and standards IEEE, ANSI, Fiber (Multimode, Single mode, UTP, etc.), Bridging, Switching, Routing, Ethernet and Transport technologies and protocolsDemonstrated data networking knowledge (OSI Model, TCP/IP, Optical Transport), knowledge in network design, network architecture, protocols and network topology, and using ticketing and software tools to support the current operationsDemonstrated knowledge of basic network devices, basic network appliances, and network designing software such as Visio

Preferred Qualifications

EducationCisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)Industry and vendor specific certifications and training (Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel-Lucent, etc.)ExperienceKnowledge of company products and services

The base pay for this position generally is between $75,130.00 and $120,010.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
