HOW A NETWORK ENGINEER ASSOCIATE WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
● Responsible for the understanding, documenting, troubleshooting, and enhancing the customer data communications network with the guidance of senior staff
● Take initiative to Interact with the network and security teams to fully understand and learn the customer infrastructure
● Learn from senior staff as much as possible about all infrastructure including all network and security components
● Hands-on configuration, management and troubleshooting of large and complex networks
● Perform root cause analysis on client issues and achieve resolutions
● Assist with administrative tasks related such as updating inventory, problem tracking, and keeping network diagrams and documentation up to date
● Support various technologies such as: Firewalls, WAN technologies , Data Center infrastructure (VLANs, trunks, teaming, L2 & L3, etc.), Campus switching, Load Balancer and Virtualization, Routing protocol support (BGP, IEGRP & OSPF), VPN technology support, enterprise wireless, RADIUS services, enterprise DNS / DHCP and other various enterprise technologies and services.
● Our team supports technologies including Juniper switches and routers, Cisco switches and routers, F5 appliances, Palo Alto firewalls, Opengear devices, Infoblox DDI, Cisco ISE and ACS, Aruba wireless
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
● Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Cybersecurity, or Computer Science
● Required Experience: 1+ years of related experience with Cisco or Juniper networking devices
● Required Technical Skills: General knowledge of TCP/IP networking, switching, routing, DNS, DHCP.
● Security Clearance Level: Public Trust Position
● Required Skills and Abilities: Ability to write technical design and operational guides and the ability to use Visio to create and update network drawings.
● Location: Customer site located in Alexandria, Virginia- HYBRID role
