UPMC is looking for a network engineer to join their team. This position will be a Hybrid role, 1-2 days per week on site at Forbes Tower or Northpointe Datacenter when needed.

The Network Engineer position will be part of a strategic team responsible for Network Design, building and deploying data center infrastructure in a 24x7x365 environment. Key to this position will be a focus on process automation in a secure, high performance, highly available (99.9995), and fully resilient infrastructure across multiple data centers and core locations. The candidate must possess experience in networking and design and capable of working in a highly complex, dynamic environment.

Top Skills Seeking:

·       Demonstrated experience with IP Networking in large Enterprise or ISP class environment.

·       Time management in a heavy workload environment.

·       Experience in Access Layer (switching); Router configuration/deployment/troubleshooting; wiring and datacenter cabling experience.

Responsibilities:

Implement using guidelines developed for the deployment and management of the network data center infrastructure and cabling plant. Participate in developing cross functional business and technical requirements for the enterprise. Evaluate new hardware platforms and services.
