Job Description

We are seeking a Senior WordPress Developer to join our nearshore development team in Lisboa, Portugal. As a key member of our technical team, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining high-quality WordPress websites and applications for our international clients.

Design, develop, and maintain custom WordPress themes and pluginsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative web solutionsOptimize website performance, security, and user experienceTroubleshoot and resolve complex WordPress issuesImplement responsive design and ensure cross-browser compatibilityParticipate in code reviews and contribute to best practices documentationStay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trendsMentor junior developers and provide technical guidanceCommunicate effectively with clients and team members across different time zones

Qualifications5+ years of professional experience in WordPress developmentAdvanced knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScriptProficiency in developing custom WordPress themes and pluginsStrong understanding of WordPress core, including APIs and hooksExperience with version control systems, preferably GitExpertise in responsive design and mobile-first developmentFamiliarity with MySQL and database optimization techniquesKnowledge of WordPress security best practices and performance optimizationExperience with nearshore development processes and cross-cultural communicationStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailExcellent time management and organizational abilitiesAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environmentFluency in English; knowledge of Portuguese is a plusBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or related field (preferred)WordPress certifications (preferred)
