Working at our Asheville Facilities
Our Asheville campus is the career home for people who share a commitment to learning, achieving and collaboration. The campus includes a facility for production of highly complex rotating parts engineered for commercial and military aircraft engines. In addition, our Ceramic Matrix Composites facility produces high-tech, more efficient components to power the worlds
aircraft engines of tomorrow. With a product mix including shafts, seals, retainers, and discs, we’re bringing quality to enhance commercial, military, marine and industrial engine performance.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Perform non-destructive testing (including Florescent Penetrant Inspection – FPI) of RPCA materialsInterpret results of FPI in accordance with quality procedures, process planning, and special process instructions.Determine part acceptability relative to quality requirements and prepare reports/ documentation as necessarySet-up, calibrate, and maintain non-destructive equipment as necessaryMust complete all required compliance trainingMust complete all EHS training and participate in safety and quality auditsMust be an active contributing member of a high-performance self-directed work teamParticipation in Tier Meetings/Shift Startups & handoffsEmbrace continuous improvement and assist with Lean initiatives in your areaDemonstrate teaming culture and positive culture of GE Aerospace AshevilleAbility and willingness to cross train in other manufacturing or inspection areas of the RPCA plant to meet business needsProficiency with computer applications (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, shop floor applications, etc.)Strong documentation skills to record operations and dataMaintain Inspection qualification (Visual, NDT, CMM)Ability to work overtime (OT) and flex schedule as needed to meet business needs.Sets the example for leadership behaviors (humility, transparency, and focus).Communication Skills: effectively gives and receives written, verbal, and non-verbal information.Leadership: Ability to provide clarity and assistance; shares knowledge and is well respected by team memberLearning skills: ability to learn and grasp new information and concepts quickly and accurately.Maturity of Judgment: accepts responsibilities for and learns from consequences of actions and decisions.Organization & Time Management: ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, set goals, and develop systems for achieving those goalsChange Management: Solicit and seek feedback to improve current processes.Be a proactive problem solver and analytical thinker.Basic Qualifications/Requirements:
