What You Will Do:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team at the engine center in Bridgeport, WV as an NDT Technician. In this role, you will perform non-destructive testing on our engine parts and components using dye penetrant and digital radiographic techniques and equipment. The person in this role must be highly attentive to detail and maintain all EH&S regulations. You will work on our 2nd shift, which is Monday-Thursday from 3:30pm-1:30am. Training will take place on our 1st shift for up to 6 months.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform Non-Destructive Inspection duties relating to the overhaul and repair of gas turbine engines.
Perform Fluorescent Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, and/or X-Ray inspection methods on various engine components to determine conformance to Overhaul and Repair Manuals and Quality Standards.
Set up equipment, conduct tests, and interpret, evaluate, and document results in accordance with the approved procedures.
Familiar with the scope and limitations of the method in which they are certified and shall be capable of directing the work of trainees and Level I personnel.
Organize and document N.D.T. results. Familiar with the codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control the method being utilized.
Write procedures and/or initiate techniques that must be approved by the Level III before use. Must use discretion based on job knowledge and experience when performing non-routine inspections.
Plan and schedule incoming engines to meet customer requirements in absence of Lead person.
Comply with all company work rules, follow safe work practices and procedures established to protect the environment, and report to supervisors all unsafe acts, hazardous conditions, and conditions which impact or have the potential to impact the environment.
Responsible for reading, understanding, and complying with RTX's Code of Ethics, including the obligation to report actual and suspected violations of the code.
Perform all other related duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications You Must Have:
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
Qualifications We Prefer:
8-16 hours of formal training in specific methods (MPI, FPI, etc.)
Level 2 NDT certification with proper training/hours records
5+ years’ experience as an NDT Technician and/or previous aftermarket aviation experience preferred
