**Job Overview:**
The NDT Tech assigned as RT Level II Technician performs radiographic testing activities without the need for supervisory approval, following established procedures and safety standards. The technician applies technical knowledge to ensure safe and compliant execution of tasks within the scope of radiographic testing.
**Key Tasks and Responsibilities:**
+ Implement and enforce all safety and radiation protection measures in accordance with BAPETEN regulations and McDermott requirements, while promoting a strong safety culture in all activities and work environments
+ Ensure the correct use of radiation protection equipment (personal dosimeters, radiation shielding devices, warning signage, etc.)
+ Prepare, inspect, and verify the readiness of radiographic equipment and associated accessories (gamma or X-ray sources) prior to use
+ Perform radiographic examinations in accordance with approved procedures and applicable standards.
+ Monitor and control the radiographic testing process to ensure image quality, operational efficiency, and safety compliance.
+ Monitor radiation exposure levels and ensure adherence to dose limits, including maintaining controlled areas and preventing unauthorized access during operations.
+ Coordinate with the RT Film Interpreter to confirm test results and manage the preparation and signing of radiographic testing reports, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and timely submission
+ Conduct routine checks, inspections, and basic maintenance of radiographic equipment and accessories to ensure operational readiness and compliance (as required)
+ Follow health monitoring protocols and ensure personal dose monitoring is conducted as required.
+ Immediately report and provide feedback to the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) regarding any radiation-related incidents, unsafe conditions, near-misses, or challenges that may impact the effectiveness of the Radiation Protection and Safety Program
+ Notify the RSO and Permit Holder or their designee of any health symptoms potentially related to radiation exposure.
+ Inform the Permit Holder of past and current work history related to radiation exposure, as required by regulatory provisions.
+ Participate in or provide technical input for the development and revision of Work Instructions (WI) and procedures related to radiographic testing.
+ Supervise and coordinate the activities of RT Level I during testing operations
+ Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and on-the-job training to RT Level I and Trainee.
+ Ensure that all team members comply with safety protocols, operational procedures, and regulatory requirements throughout testing activities.
+ Participate in ongoing education and training programs to enhance knowledge and competency in radiation protection and safety.
+ Participate in safety briefings, toolbox talks, and training sessions to maintain awareness and competency in radiation safety and operational procedures.
**Essential Qualifications and Education:**
+ Holds BAPETEN Work License as RT Level II
+ Be occupationally qualified and certified as RT Level II to internationally recognized schemes to determine competency (i.e., PCN, CSWIP, ASNT, etc.) requirements
+ A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent in a science or technical field
+ Three plus (3+) years in Radiography Testing
+ Proficient in assessing examination results accurately, sentencing welds, and reporting same, according to the relevant code/spec acceptance criteria
