Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Naval Engineer to support the digital transformation and design optimization of large-scale maritime systems. In this role, you will refine mechanical and structural systems across the full engineering lifecycle—applying Lean Design, CAD/PLM workflows, and modularity strategies to enhance design efficiency, manufacturability, and system performance. This position is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in shipboard systems, shipyard design practices, and cost-conscious engineering who thrives in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
ResponsibilitiesSupport digital transformation and design optimization of maritime systems.Refine mechanical and structural systems across the engineering lifecycle.Apply Lean Design, CAD/PLM workflows, and modularity strategies.Participate in design reviews, validation studies, trade-off analyses, and decision briefs.Essential SkillsProficient with CAD tools such as Siemens NX, CATIA, Creo.Experience with PLM systems like Teamcenter, ENOVIA, Windchill.Familiar with design and build processes related to navy shipbuilding.Experience working on navy projects.Additional Skills & QualificationsUnderstanding of design-build processes for shipbuilding.Knowledge of design for manufacturing ensuring parts are manufacturable.Exposure to Navy programs and international travel opportunities.Work Environment
This position offers a flexible work environment with options for remote work, except during travel to customer sites or for collaboration meetings. Hours are Monday to Friday, 7 am to 4 pm, with potential travel upwards of 50%, which could be international or local for collaboration meetings.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $75.00/hr.
