**The Opportunity:**
CACI is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to work with a dynamic team of maritime engineers and naval architects. You will provide engineering support for vessels with high pressure steam propulsion systems alone and as part of an engineering team in support of the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and the Military Sealift Command (MSC).
**Responsibilities:**
+ Provide engineering support for design and assessment of shipboard engineering systems in areas of main and auxiliary boilers, high and low-pressure steam systems, and ancillary equipment such as reducing and safety valves.
+ Provide engineering support for main propulsion turbines, turbogenerators, condensers, throttle valves, and other aspects of steam propulsion
+ Work with technical stakeholders for variety of projects for new design and in-service vessels.
+ Use, maintain, and improve document authoring and drafting practices and tools to develop reports, manuals, and drawings with high efficiency and accuracy
+ Design and develop interfaces between ship systems and new equipment
+ Author and develop design reports to accompany in-service modifications to ship systems
**Qualifications:**
_Required:_
- BSME in Mechanical Engineering or equal
- Design or field service experience with shipboard steam propulsion systems
- Ability to write concise reports and specifications in English with minimal oversight in MS Word making use of feature research as styles, fields, and references.
- Proven track record in ship design, modification, or maintenance projects
- Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to work alone on individual projects with minimal supervision and with other Engineering Disciplines on a team.
- Ability to interface with team members, technical leads, and Project Managers
- Ability to review and apply US Navy and/or US commercial ship design requirements, including DOD acquisition on, system safety, and testing processes
- Good verbal (English) communication skills
- Willingness to travel ≤10% of the time
- Must be a US Citizen
- Ability to Obtain a Clearance

- PE in Mechanical Engineering
-MS in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience in design or design modification for main and/or auxiliary marine boilers, steam propulsion equipment, and ancillary equipment.
- Engineering and Technical Authority (E&TA) Familiarization training
- Working knowledge of maritime regulations, classification on society rules, and industry standards to ensure compliance

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$75,200-$158,100
