Responsibilities Develop and document software development plans for mission critical aircraft systemsSupport implementation of software development plans and practicesDefine robust software test plans and methodsSupport the definition and implementation of software architectures for new productsAnalyze and assess software architectures for potential technical refresh improvementsCoordinate with systems engineering in the development of software requirementsObserve development team members in developing features and stories for software product developmentAnalyze and assess advanced technologies, toolsets, and frameworks for implementation in emerging software productsObserve that development of mission critical software follows modern software practicesPerform code reviews in support of system engineering technical reviews (SETRs)Provide input to contract data requirements list (CDRL) deliverablesActive or have the ability to obtain Top Secret Clearance - U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance  Qualifications Demonstrated experience in all phases of the software engineering lifecycleStrong skillsets in programming in C/C++Experience developing safety and mission critical software, preferable under DO-178B/C DAL or higherExperience developing software for real time systemsStrong understanding of avionics and aircraft networks and network architecturesExperience with modern software practices (DevOps) and configuration management toolsDemonstrated ability to identify complex problems, evaluate trade space opportunities, and develop solutionsDemonstrated experience with model based systems engineering and toolsets (Cameo)Demonstrated experience with modern software development processes such as Agile.Demonstrated experience with Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) and Open Mission Systems (OMS)Understanding of zero trust architecture and cross domain solutionWill provide on-site support to the government at a contractor facility in Melbourne, FLBachelor's degree and 8-10 years of related work experience Pay Transparency Statement AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $94,400.00/Yr. - USD $157,600.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
