Summary: Negotiate the sale of guest rooms and convention space with prospective clients requiring 15 rooms or more. Manage, coordinate, and direct the activities of the sales administrative personnel and assist the Vice President of Hotel Operations with the administration of the department.

 

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Identify and pursue prospective group meeting and conference business from free market information, as well as information from purchased lead sources, analyzing historical and other statistical information (market segment, account mix goals), participate in conducting customer interviews and preparing customer call analysis reports Solicit group conference/meeting/city-wide business directly and jointly with others through the preparation, execution and completion of Action Plans Maintain, prospect, independently solicit and book group business Develop, create and maintain customer relationships to achieve optimum market share Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the Hotel’s Delphi and LMS systems Manage the Hotel’s RFP process/rate negotiations according to rate structure and guidelines laid out Maintain product knowledge at all times including all relevant rate structures and promotional offers Plan and execute sales trips in line with the Sales Plan, both locally, nationally and internationally Within established parameters, quote and negotiate prices with customer representatives confirming reservations by letter and drawing up and executing contracts; sign for the hotel and obtain customer signature to close the transaction Upon closing, coordinate and follow-up with other hotel departments to ensure delivery of superior guest services Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports are required by procedural guidelines As directed, compile and input market intelligence information into the Sales Information Management System As directed, participate in tradeshows, conventions and promotional events within the hotel, the industry and customer organizations Achieve established room night and revenue goals as outlined by the agreed upon goals Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming laws and company internal controls, policies and procedures, Title 31, and federal regulations, as they apply to the position Provide outstanding guest service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members that meets the company’s guest service culture standards Perform other duties as assigned
