Your Role:

This is a varied and wide-ranging role within the Independent Broking Unit which will give the employee access to, and experience in, a broad range of different customer, business, finance and marketing & communications activities and channels.

The role forms a critical part of Chubb Australia’s SME and middle market segment and focuses on the work we do with selected independent insurance brokers. You will be the ‘go-to’ person at Chubb for all nominated Cornerstone related matters both internally and externally and have responsibility for the development and execution of the relevant strategies at a national level.

As a strong all-rounder, you will have previous experience of working with brokers and strategically important key accounts. There will be significant focus on developing the Value Proposition for the nominated Brokers and shaping the “Go-to-Market” strategies. This will include working with internal stakeholders from our Product and Segmentation areas, as well as various functional teams.

You will be a highly presentable ‘people person’, with an appetite for working with and building close relationships across a range of key executives within Cornerstone and their network brokers.

To be successful in the role, you will have experience of working in a corporate environment, ideally financial, professional or insurance services. You should feel comfortable working for a global company and collaborating internationally, particularly with US and Asia Pacific given the accelerated growth plans in place and monitored by Chubb Overseas General.

The position is based in our Sydney or Melbourne office. This role is ideal for a strategic key account manager who is seeking to broaden their skills and experience across a broad-spectrum of disciplines.

Your Responsibilities:

• Relationship Management – In conjunction with the broader Distribution Teams across Australia, you will develop and deliver a detailed engagement plan for all nominated Brokers, to understand and keep up to date with their business priorities and our joint marketing opportunities.

• Strategic Planning – in conjunction with the Head of Independent Brokers, you will deliver a Key Account Plan for each nominated Cornerstone Broker, which will provide the platform to deliver accelerated GWP growth in SME/Mid-market segment in line with accelerated growth plans for Australia.

• Value Proposition – Working closely with the Head of Independent Brokers, Cornerstone Program Manager, state-based Key Account Managers, Product Managers, Marketing and relevant external Third-party providers; to develop a market-leading bespoke offering that will enhance the Cornerstone Partnership with Chubb.  

• Reporting – collaborate with Distribution, Finance and business analytic personnel to create reporting efficiencies and develop dashboards to enhance reporting for each broker. This suite of reports will be prepared for both internal stakeholders and Cornerstone brokers and will include but not limited to GWP, renewal retention, strike rates and claims. Demonstrate a strong understanding of broker performance analysis, delivering insight into portfolio/LOB trends and affecting relevant changes in strategy based on analysis.  

• Excellent planning and project management skills.
• Excellent communications skills and a competent copywriter in a range of formats with an eye for detail, able to ensure that copy is checked, accurate and well written.
• Commercially aware with a clear customer focus.
• Exercises initiative and acts proactively to drive and manage a range of projects.
• Capable of working in a team or independently, with little supervision.
• Demonstrable experience of developing and delivering strategic account plans, being adaptable and proactive in addressing project challenges.
• At least five years’ experience across a broad range of Insurance products and services and/or marketing and communications, ideally in financial and professional services.
