Cabot Corporation is seeking a NA Regional Logistics Operations Manager to join the NA Logistics & Packaging team at the Alpharetta, GA location.

NA Regional Logistics Operations Manager is accountable for operational logistics services to all business segments in the North America region, the main responsibility of this role includes:

Improving logistical operations strategy and efficiency with plant, regional manufacturing & business leadership.Indirectly manages the transportation booking team in the delivery centers to ensure customer on-time-delivery by resolving escalated service problems.Partner with procurement on the selection of services based on efficiency, ensuring that quality of service is delivered and that costs are in alignment with negotiated contracts across transportation, WHS in the region.

As the role ensures performance of service providers meets or exceeds standards and goals, he/she may also participate in the management of contracts and negotiations with third-party providers as well as proposes improvements to existing methods to enhance quality, efficiency, reliability, and continuity of service.

Also, this role develops and maintains business relationships with external parties, which may include customers, third-party service providers, vendors as well as delivery centers.

This role is based at the Alpharetta, GA location, but is eligible to participate in the current Hybrid Working Arrangement program (Monday/Friday remote and Tuesday-Thursday in office).

How You Will Make an Impact Provides leadership and resolution to service problems identified through monitoring of daily export shipment execution status or escalated by Delivery Centers, Export shipping sites of the region, Sales, or Business Leaders.Supervises, specifically for the import/export activities, the executed tasks by the Freight forwarder, within a model where customer orders are entered and managed by the importing regions (customer region).Oversees the status of the executions and defines prioritizations with the freight forwarder and steam ship lines. This role also includes coordinating with the exporting/importing Cabot sites within the region and ensures Cabot the proper execution of the shipments by the freight forwarders, the drayage companies and the steam ship lines.Leads and handles operations cost management, this includes cost validations and pursuing options to lower costs and avoid demurrage/detention at origin/destinationSupports Root Cause Analysis and drives actively corrective actions with SuppliersSupports on Import Shipments of non-finished materials where applicableWorks with senior management and other internal (IT, SSC, Businesses/Sales) and external customers to ensure satisfactory and efficient service delivery.

Supplier Performance Management

Supports Regional Logistics Procurement Category Manager with supplier performance managementSupports Digital Enablement and integration with Cabot systems

Policies & Compliance Management:

Ensures compliance with policies, procedures including safety, internal control, Sarbanes-Oxley regulations, and ISO 9000 standards.Provides support to the Regional Business on the evolution of Legal and Regulatory requirements of the regionsSupports efforts to implement and maintain the Responsible Care® Management System in line with the requirements of the RC14001® technical specification, as applicable to the site/region What You Will Bring to Cabot Bachelor’s/University degree in Business, Logistics or Transportation related discipline.5+ years’ logistics experience required. Strong background in logistics operations & tactical activities incl. Supplier Performance ManagementExperience creating and improving logistical operations strategy requiredExperience collaborating with plant, regional manufacturing & business leadership stakeholdersExperience partnering with procurement on the selection of servicesIndustry experience in ocean freight including import/export, rail, or shipping is requiredFamiliar with international procedures and methodsExperience with warehouse managing activities is preferredProblem-solving, analytical, decision-making, self-initiative, and organizational skillsStrong Leadership and communication skills. Ability to lead and motivate suppliers team membersStrong interpersonal skills to communicate and interact with customers, suppliers and internal groups
