JOB FUNCTION/ PURPOSE
The Accountant is responsible for applying the principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports.
Municipality Accounting experience required
RESPONSIBILITIES
Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions. Produces monthly P&L and balance sheet Calculates commissions for sales reps monthlyMakes recommendations regarding the accounting of reserves, assets, and expendituresConducts studies and submits recommendations for improving the organization’s accounting operation.Coordinates monthly close processParticipate in internal and external auditsUnderstands and adheres to all company health and safety procedures as they relate to essential job functions.QUALIFICATIONS
Effective written and verbal communication skillsAccurate and attentive to detailExcellent understanding of accounting principlesProficient computer (Excel and Word)/ten key skillsAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma with 1-3 years prior administrative experience in a professional office environment
