Multimedia Specialist (Full-Time)Department: Media Production Services, Frost School of Music Job Summary:The University of Miami's Frost School of Music seeks a highly skilled and resourceful Multimedia Specialist for an in-person role. Reporting to the Director of Media Production Services, this position will be primarily responsible for high-level video editing, graphic design, and audio post-production for a wide range of digital content. The Multimedia Specialist will play a key role in producing engaging media for Frost Online courses, Frost Marketing/Communications initiatives, and various Frost School events. The created assets will be used across our media channels, online instructional platforms, and promotional campaigns, all while adhering to established production and brand guidelines. This position requires a self-starter with excellent organizational skills capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously. Specific Responsibilities• Execute comprehensive video editing for Frost Online courses, marketing campaigns, and event coverage, ensuring high production value and adherence to brand standards.• Create simple motion graphics and animations to enhance video content and visual storytelling.• Perform professional audio mixing and mastering for all video productions, ensuring clear and impactful sound.• Occasionally film and record audio for various projects at our studio, concert halls, faculty studios, classrooms, and outdoor locations.• Occasionally photograph live performances, campus activities, and staged photos as needed.• Assist in coordinating and streamlining multimedia post-production workflows.• Ensure the continuity of the Frost School's brand image across all media assets.• Help manage and organize multimedia archives as instructed.• Maintain a working knowledge of all tools and technology related to video production, editing, and graphic design.• Assist with basic maintenance of multimedia equipment. Knowledge, Skills and Attributes• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro or an equivalent professional video editing platform is required.• Strong proficiency in graphic design software and audio editing software is required.• Proficiency in Adobe After Effects or a similar app is a plus.• Proven ability as a self-starter who is resourceful in finding solutions and taking initiative.• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, often with overlapping deadlines.• Experience with professional video cameras.• Ability to understand and meticulously follow instructions and production guidelines.• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.• Ability to work effectively with university administration at all levels, often handling confidential information.• Ability to maintain positive and effective interpersonal relationships within a collaborative environment. Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in relevant field required • A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in multimedia production, with a strong emphasis on post-production. Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered. • Relevant media institute or college degree (e.g., in Film, Video Production, Multimedia Arts, Communications) is preferred.• A demo reel and/or portfolio of sample work is required for application consideration.
