We are seeking a Multi-Site Leader to join our First Mile team in Rio de Janeiro, RJ. In this role, you will provide inspiring and supportive leadership across multiple operational sites. At the same time, you won’t hesitate to roll up your sleeves and get involved when needed.
You will be directly responsible for developing a team of Shift Managers and their direct reports, while reporting to the Senior Operations Manager. The quality of your leadership will be key to your success. You will tactfully motivate and inspire your teams to do their best work while planning schedules and activities that balance their needs with those of the business.
Another key aspect of the role is leading process improvement projects aimed at streamlining operations for both yourself and the teams you support. The ideas, innovations, and bold steps you take to challenge the status quo may be adopted across the Amazon network. This is a unique opportunity, and it’s yours for the taking.
Key job responsibilities
Your role will be pivotal in the overall management, control, organization, and direction of the SCP (Seller Processing Center). Your responsibilities will include, among others:
- Maintaining health and safety standards within your area of responsibility while promoting and fostering a strong safety culture on site
- Becoming proficient in specific large-scale processes and activities within SCPs, such as 5S audits
- Managing meaningful data collection within the inventory control and systems environment, and updating operational metrics on an hourly basis
- Striving to achieve productivity targets, reduce cost per unit, eliminate errors, and ensure an outstanding customer and seller experience
- Collaborating closely with other support teams such as HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety and Security, and IT on staffing plans, schedules, and performance levels
- Driving progressive process improvements and contributing to cross-functional Six Sigma initiatives within your sites and across the broader Amazon Transportation network in Brazil
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- Employee and performance management experience (leading large and diverse teams)
- Expertise in two or more production or supply chain areas
- Experience using data and metrics to measure impact and determine improvements, also analyze the data you generate
- Advanced level in Excel (vlookup, advanced formulas, pivot tables, macros);
- Fluent Portuguese and advanced English;
- Available to travel 20% of the time to visit SCPs in your regional
Preferred Qualifications
- Completed master’s degree or MBA
- Experience with Kaizen and Lean methodologies and related techniques
