Description:Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) is seeking a Multi-functional Engineering Manager to lead and mentor others through the challenging work of developing the leading-edge Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) system for the Missile Defense Agency.
The Program
Responding to ballistic missile threats presents an unprecedented challenge of speed, precision, and coordination among numerous weapons systems, sensors and warfighters. C2BMC is the integrating element that links the various individual sensor-interceptor-communications elements into one coordinated system protecting against all types of missile threats. This protection spans across multiple regions in any phase of flight providing the warfighter with an integrated global view of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS). C2BMC puts the “S” in BMDS.
The Team
As the Largest Defense Contractor in the world, Lockheed Martin is tasked with leading the development of the C2BMC system at primary sites located in Colorado Springs, CO and Huntsville, AL. The C2BMC team is a diverse team of Software, Systems, Cyber, Project, Network and Information Technology Engineers driving towards of a common goal of delivering the world’s most advanced missile defense integration platform to our customers.
The Job
The Multi-Functional Engineering Manager will lead a cross-functional team of engineers on the C2BMC program to drive both operational excellence and develop engineering talent. This role is only open to a current or newly onboarding member of the C2BMC technical staff, as the candidate who fills this position will maintain their technical role on the program.
In this role, you will be responsible for the following:
• Managing resource planning, staffing, and talent development
• Communicate and drive Lockheed and C2BMC senior leadership vision
• Managing timely completion of required Lockheed staff responsibilities
• Managing requisition creation, candidate interviews, and assisting in recruiting
• Fostering a culture of Agile development, promoting continuous improvement and innovation
• Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure product integrity and quality
• Developing Basis of Estimate (BOE) for future contracts
• Assisting in the onboarding of new Lockheed employees and subcontractor partners
• Acting as non-employee sponsor for subcontractor partners
• Assisting in various facility management activities
This role requires exceptional leadership, technical, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Basic Qualifications:
• US DOD Secret or higher active clearance.
• Filling a current or upcoming engineering role on C2BMC program
• Domain experience in one or more of the following disciplines: software engineering, systems engineering, or information technology
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and develop talent
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks with often quick turnaround
• Experience developing detailed plans in support of technical assignments
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate successfully between multiple engineering disciplines
• Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Desire to help people navigate through their careers
Desired Skills:
• Previous full spectrum leadership position or other direct functional management role
• Experience with Lockheed tools and processes
• Experience with interacting with senior leadership within Lockheed or our customers
• Experience in leading strategic enterprise initiatives
• Experience leading technical interviews and making hiring decisions

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $122,900 - $216,660. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
