Mulesoft Developer (SC Clearance required)
The team you'll be working with:

NTT DATA UK is seeking a MuleSoft Developer to join our growing practice. You will be part of an agile team building digital products, enhancing and developing software components.

Your main responsibility will be to deliver clean, maintainable, and well-tested code that adheres to SOLID principles. You will work collaboratively across Quality Assurance, DevOps, and other development teams, sharing knowledge, supporting onboarding, and contributing to code reviews.

Due to the nature of the work/client you must have or be eligible for SC Clearance (British Passport holder or 5 years continuous residence in the UK)

What you'll be doing: \tDeliver high-quality, maintainable code and development outcomes.\tManage data exchange between backend services, front-end applications, and third-party APIs.\tDevelop server-side logic in collaboration with Business Analysts and QA, ensuring requirements are met and code is testable.\tLead and contribute to technical user stories, focusing on integration and service optimisation.\tDocument solutions using diagrams, flowcharts, and clear code comments.\tEnsure compliance with quality standards, including automated testing and code reviews.\tAddress non-functional requirements such as performance, monitoring, and operational support.\tSupport releases through all development environments, maintaining quality and reliability.\tContribute to skill development and technology adoption within the team.\tPresent technical concepts in demos and participate in user feedback sessions.\tProvide accurate work estimates and support agile planning.\tBalance delivery pace with documentation, test automation, and technical debt reduction What experience you'll bring:

Essential

\tExperience delivering integration microservices using MuleSoft best practices.\tProven ability to write clean, maintainable code following SOLID principles.\tDesigning RAML, REST APIs, flow control, and error handling.\tHands-on experience with the Anypoint Platform (CloudHub, VPC, VPN, DLB, firewalls, and cloud technologies).\tSecuring and managing APIs using API Manager.\tDeveloping frameworks for error handling and logging.\tManaging the API development lifecycle from design to governance and management.\tWorking with batch message processing, Salesforce, file, and database connectors.\tUsing MUnit and practising test-driven development.\tExperience with REST, HTTP, MQ, JSON, XML, and SOA.\tFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines (Maven, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Git, MuleSoft).

 

Desirable

\tExperience working in consulting or public sector environments.\tExperience as a microservices developer.\tMuleSoft certification.

Education and Other Requirements

\tTypically, candidates have substantial experience in MuleSoft integration development, but we welcome applicants with a range of backgrounds and relevant skills.\tDegree in a relevant field (e.g. Computer Science, Statistics) or equivalent practical experience.\tEligible for SC clearance (requires 5 years’ residency in the UK; citizenship is not mandatory).\tAble to adapt to changing priorities and client needs.
