**Job Description**
General Purpose
Operate shuttles to move trailers from building to building, staging area, and from various loading dock doors. Apply knowledge of commercial driving regulations.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
+ Operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) and DFA rules, regulations, and policies adhering to all safety practices
+ Receive instructions via radio and perform trailer shuttling to accommodate logistical needs
+ Perform daily maintenance checks of shuttle truck and report any malfunctions to the appropriate person
+ Document all trailer moves into the appropriate system or daily move sheet; submit sheet to appropriate person upon the completion of the shift
+ Fuel the yard truck as needed
+ Couple and uncouple tractor trailer units
+ Connect and disconnect brake lines as needed
+ Perform safety check inspection of the trailer according to DOT regulations
+ Secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift
+ Communicate effectively and maintain good relations with local staff; report any problems to the supervisor
+ Attend all driver workshops and training sessions
+ Represent DFA positively and professionally at all times during interactions with customers or other individuals

**Schedule-Monday-Friday 2:00pm-10:30pm/ Rotating Monday and Saturday's off/ Saturday start time 11:00am-until completion**
**Requirements**
Education and Experience
+ High school diploma or equivalent preferred
+ Experience driving or shuttling tractor trailers preferred
+ Must meet minimum age requirements
+ Must meet DFA requirements for Motor Vehicle Records
+ Must meet all DOT requirements
+ Certification and/or License – driver’s license or operator’s permit for at least the three years immediately prior to application
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
+ Basic knowledge of DOT procedures, rules, and requirements
+ Able to perform the duties of this role in all weather conditions
+ Able to communicate effectively
+ Able to work in collaboration effectively and foster good teamwork
+ Able to follow directions and meet deadlines
+ Able to be punctual
+ Able to work in a fast-paced environment
+ Good record keeping skills
+ Basic math skills
+ Must be able to read, write and speak English
