Our Design and Technology Enablement teams are working on the development of a broad portfolio of semiconductor technologies ranging from 350 nm down to 12nm including FD-SOI, RF, High-Voltage and automotive applications.
Your Job
GlobalFoundries Design Enablement Team is seeking a talented and motivated engineer to join the PDK EMIR team. In this role you develop EMIR technology files for precise reliability analysis on a given semiconductor microelectronic layout design. A person in this role regularly interfaces with design rule developers, process development engineers, device designers, device modelers, PDK developers, and client technical support engineers.
Develop high quality Electro migration and IR drop (EMIR) tech files working with stakeholders from PDK, Spice Modeling, Process Integration, Reliability and other relevant teams.
Create high quality EMIR tech files for Voltus/VoltusFi and Redhawk/Totem based on Design Manual and other source documentation.
Create appropriate mapping/interface files to enable smooth flow from CAD library/PEX to EMIR
Work with cross-functional (Reliability, Modeling, Device) teams to ensure tight boundary in Reliability assumptions and EMIR PDK enablement.
Collaborate with appropriate stakeholders and contribute to the improvements of infrastructure and automations for verification of EMIR tech files ensuring highest levels in quality and coverage for all features.
Work with EDA vendors to drive tool enhancements and methodologies based on the needs of advanced processes.
Develop, deploy, support, maintain automation tools that represents the Fab process
Developing design components for Device library of PDKs
Review and interpret process design rules and SPICE model documents, in order to create specification data for the Process Design Kit Device development.
Required Qualifications
Education: Master of Science in related discipline (Electronics, Physics or other)
Experience: at least 5 years of experience as EDA engineer in semiconductors
Excellent technical problem-solving skills.
Good knowledge of device physics and circuit design
Demonstrated programming skills in related area
Participates as a member and leader of cross-functional teams
Self-motivated, resourceful and shows initiative.
Works very well in a team environment
Travel Requirements: Less than 10%
Language Fluency – English (Written & Verbal)
Preferred Qualifications
Master of Science or PhD in technical discipline
Strong experience in physical verification EDA tools
Strong experience using the Cadence Design Environment
Strong experience in PDK Design Enablement flows
Demonstrated expertise Python, Perl
Demonstrated expertise in SKILL coding is a plus
