MSS Specialist
Job Summary Coordinates and supports department, committee, annual and special meetings of the medical staff Maintains current knowledge of Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules & Regulations, Joint Commission medical staff standards, and state and federal requirements and acts as a resource to hospital personnel and medical staff. Oversees the preparation and distribution of a monthly calendar of medical staff events and meetings Performs other duties as needed in support of the responsibilities of the medical staff and medical staff services Performs other duties as needed in support of the responsibilities of the medical staff and medical staff services department. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology required. Formal administrative secretary training preferred. A good working knowledge of PC-based word processing programs (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required. Experience Three years performing secretarial or administrative duties preferred. Medical staff activities experience preferred. Two years of experience in a healthcare setting working with healthcare quality processes and medical staff activities preferred. Minute taking experience preferred. Licensure/Certification/Registration/ETC. National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS), Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM), or Certified Provider Credentials Specialist (CPCS) at time of hire or its completion within 6 years of hire into this position, preferred. Compensation/Benefits $17.39-$28.40/hr depending on previous work experience.
