We are looking for a MRO Delivery Manager - Off-wing Capabilities to work within our Whole Force Approach environment, alongside and embedded with our RAF customer on the Chinook platform. Reporting directly to the Senior Operations Manager (Form 4 Holder), the Delivery Manager provides full accountability and management of the aircraft Maintenance Operations, Maintenance Support or Maintenance Workshop areas by having direct control, oversight and leadership of a multidiscipline team.
Travel within the UK is expected and some overseas travel may be required.
Responsibilities:
Leading and managing a team in delivery aircraft and/or aircraft component maintenance to the customer, on time, to budget with first time quality standards.
Production, embodiment and adherence of the plan/Schedule
Regular engagement with BDUK Supply Chain, Production Service Engineers, Commercial and Programme in the delivery of aircraft and/or component maintenance.
Medium- and Long-term resource planning
Day-to-day monitoring and coordination of all operational teams
Work alongside the customer and other BDUK MRO Managers for the prioritisation of maintenance output and allocation of staff within a BDUK/RAF Whole Force construct.
Actively encourage, lead and participate in Continuous Improvement workshops, to identify and address inefficiencies.
Respond to quality and safety deficiencies and lead the corrective actions.
Management, mentoring and development of the aircraft maintainers and supporting staff within your team. associated tasks for your direct reports
Identify and produce output focused metrics, reporting to Operations leadership and Programme Management.
Essential competencies, experience and qualities:
Demonstrable experience of aircraft maintenance operations, in a UK Defence or commercial context.
The ability to provide knowledge-based leadership/oversight and apply both technical and human factors (HF) knowledge, with regard to the running and control of maintenance staff, against industry and organisational requirements.
A good communicator, technical and non-technical, with the ability to effectively engage across multiple Functions and levels, both internally and with the customer.
A working knowledge of MAA Regulatory Articles (RA), MAA Regulatory Publication (MRP) Part 145, BDUK MRP 145 MOE, aviation Quality Assurance (QA) and Safety Management System (SMS) processes, and the application of these requirements within their area of accountability, responsibility and authority
Capable of understanding and interpreting Technical Documents, Technical Drawings and/or associated Authorised Technical Publications (ATP’s), to provide guidance to their team/s if necessary
Familiarity with supply, quality and safety systems with knowledge of military maintenance practices and procedures desirable.
Ability to mentor and coach team members and develop productive relationships with direct reports.
