GENERAL SUMMARY:Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, performs radiographic MRI examinations of various anatomical parts and systems of the body to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of injuries or medical conditions. Must be ARRT registered in MRI. What’s Required: Education/Experience: + Completion of a two-year accredited radiologic technology program, including coursework in anatomy, physiology, and radiation safety. + Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and hold certification in MRI. Skills & Competencies: + Strong analytical, visual, hearing, and sensory touch acuity to determine proper positioning and exposure. + Excellent interpersonal skills for patient interaction, often during high-stress situations. + Ability to maintain records, schedule exams, and perform basic clerical tasks. + Capable of applying knowledge of radiologic procedures and learning additional diagnostic techniques. + BLS certification required. Principal Duties & Responsibilities: + Transport and prepare patients for MRI procedures. + Operate complex MRI and imaging equipment and assist radiologists with contrast media administration. + Position patients appropriately and ensure optimal image quality. + Perform mobile exams as needed and ensure diagnostic quality of images. + Practice sterile techniques and follow all infection control, safety, and universal precautions. + Maintain cleanliness of equipment and exam areas; report malfunctions immediately. + Document procedures and maintain accurate records for compliance and certification. + Perform clerical tasks as necessary, including scheduling, phone handling, and data entry. + Stay current with industry trends and maintain required certifications and CME credits. + Take call coverage as scheduled, including nights, weekends, and holidays. + Provide mentorship and instruction to students as needed. + Exhibit professionalism, compassion, confidentiality, and patient-centered communication. + Collaborate in performance improvement and safety initiatives throughout the department. + Display sound judgment, decision-making, and critical thinking skills in all aspects of patient care. + Perform additional duties as assigned.
