MRI Technologist
Overview We are seeking a n MRI Technologist , sometimes referred to as an MRI Tech. The MRI Technologist will operate magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment to capture detailed images of patients' internal organs, tissues, and structures. They play critical role in the diagnostic process by producing high-quality images that help physicians diagnose and treat various medical conditions. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/PRN as needed . Shift’s Available:   Variable Employment Type: Per Diem (PD/PRN) Hours: Variable Location : St. Joseph Medical Center – Kansas City, MO Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): + P repare patients for their MRI scans by explaining the procedure, addressing any concerns or questions, and ensuring that patients are comfortable, you will also screen patients for contraindications to MRI, such as the presence of metal implants or pacemakers + O perate MRI scanners to acquire high-resolution images of the body, position patients correctly on the scanning table and select appropriate imaging parameters to produce clear and accurate images + A dhere to strict safety protocols to protect both patients and you from potential hazards associated with MRI technology, such as strong magnetic fields + D uring the MRI scan, monitor patients' vital signs and adjust imaging parameters as needed to obtain the desired images, you may perform multiple imaging sequences to capture different anatomical views or enhance specific tissue contrasts + A dminister contrast agents intravenously to enhance the visibility of certain tissues or abnormalities during the scan, monitor patients for any adverse reactions to the contrast agent and provide appropriate care if needed + P erform routine quality assurance checks on MRI equipment to ensure optimal performance and image quality Qualifications Education and Training Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers .
