MRI Technician

VCA Emergency Animal Hospital and Referral Center is seeking an experienced full-time MRI technician for our team!

We are the largest Specialty and Emergency hospital in the San Diego and have opened a brand new, state of the art hospital in Mission Valley. For over 30 years, we have provided exceptional veterinary service and patient care. We’re open 24 hours for emergencies and we’re available for appointments for our surgery, internal medicine, neurology, cardiology and integrative medicine departments. We take pride in what we do and are looking for a motivated individual who is willing to work with a strong team of individuals in a fast paced environment. We are looking for someone who is proficient with the following skills:

Prefer someone who is certified and able to maintain certification by an accredited MRI program i.e. American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)Minimum 1 year direct experience. Having veterinary experience is a bonus!Must have knowledge of PACS systems and related Image viewing programs.Must be able to work in a fast-paced environmentMust be able to multi-task and critical think under pressure.Must be able to stand, bend, or kneel for long periods of time.Need ambulatory skills to perform duties while in the hospital, including manipulating (lift, carry, move) 40lbs or more; walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch intermittently, and stand for long periods.Perform the imaging portion (non-anesthetic) of all MRI procedures ordered by veterinarians in hospitalsArrange for appropriate distribution of images throughout required modalities as requested by doctors or clientsMaintain the health of the MRI machine, control unit, and all related software as necessary.During any downtime from MRI scanning, assist and receive basic training within the rest of the hospital to be able to assist technical/facility staff as needed.Ensures that day-to-day scanning procedures are followed, including proficiency in scanning MRI examination, following specific site/doctor protocols.Ensure the safety of personnel (and machine) in the MRI/CT/Ultrasound and Radiology areasOversee additional tasks assigned by your leadership team.

Salary: $42 - $47/ hour
Compensation is based on education, experience, skillset and other relevant credentials.
