**Position Description**
We are currently looking for an experienced pediatric Registered Nurse to join our MRI team in a Pre-Anesthesia Clinic Nursing role.
As an MRI Clinic Nurse, you will apply a family-centered approach to plan for patients to safely undergo imaging with general anesthesia and non-sedate options for appropriate candidates. In this role you will assess risk, develop a care plan with the interdisciplinary team and educate patients and families.
**Here's what you'll get to do:**
+ You will be the point of contact for families and patients to promote a positive experience for patients undergoing imaging with general anesthesia and young infants for non-sedate options.
+ Complete comprehensive health history and nursing assessment, assess anesthetic risk and develop a plan of care for patients scheduled for imaging requiring general anesthetic or non-sedate options for young infants.
+ Provide pre-imaging teaching and preparation as it relates to the effects of general anesthesia on the patient.
+ Work in collaboration with the child/family and the interdisciplinary health care team to coordinate care for imaging under general anesthesia and address complex care patient needs.
+ Maintain clinical competence and knowledge base through continued education and life-long learning.
+ Utilize evidence-based practice in the promotion of professional accountability.
+ Provide safe, competent and ethical nursing care.
**Here's what you'll need:**
+ Baccalaureate degree in Nursing, Master of Nursing degree an asset
+ Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse
+ Experience in pediatric nursing is a strong asset but not mandatory (minimum 2-3 years strongly preferred)
+ Experience in Diagnostic Imaging and/ or PACU of pediatric patients strongly preferred
+ Completion of an accredited pediatric sedation course an asset
+ Completion of Anesthesia Assistant Program an asset
+ Excellent interpersonal, communication and team collaboration skills
+ Able to be self-directed and able to work under minimal supervision
+ Demonstrated ability to use your critical thinking, problem-solving and teamwork abilities
+ A commitment to understanding and aiding in the pursuit of equity, diversity & inclusion

**Employment Type: Permanent** Full-Time (1 position available)
+ 8-hour shifts, weekdays
