We are seeking a skilled Aircraft Maintenance Technician to join CAE in support of the MQ-9B SkyGuardian Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) program. This program is the first of its kind delivered to the RCAF and offers a unique opportunity for you to bring your expertise and dedication to work on this groundbreaking aviation system. The successful candidate will maintain the MQ-9B Remotely Piloted Aircraft alongside members of the RCAF at the Air Maintenance Detachment East, in Greenwood, Nova Scotia.
Duties & responsibilities:
Inspect, maintain, repair, and test aircraft systems
Remove and replace line replaceable units and components
Ensure the accurate completion of technical records
Deploy to remote and/or international locations for extended periods of time
Perform specialty work in maintenance shops as required.
Interpret technical publications and diagrams
Maintain tools and equipment required to perform primary duties
Order aircraft spare parts and materials
Conduct flight line servicing operations
Debrief Team Lead as required
Carry out workplace inspections and clean ups
Comply with safety, quality, airworthiness, and technical policies and procedures
Work shifts on a routine basis and overtime when needed
Travel for essential training
Mandatory qualifications:
Transport Canada approved Aviation Technician - Aircraft Maintenance or Avionics Maintenance Diploma or Canadian Forces Aviation (AVN) Technician or Avionics (AVS) Technician Qualification
Possession of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering License with an M1, M2 or E rating or be a Canadian Forces Journeyman Aviation (AVN) Technician or Avionics (AVS) Technician
At least 5 years of first- and second-line aircraft maintenance related experience
Proven experience as a team player
Strong communication skills
Be able to work shifts
Possess a valid driver’s license
Ability to meet the RCAF deployable fitness criteria
Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen, a Permanent Resident or with a valid Work Permit
Capable of obtaining and maintaining both Controlled Goods Clearance and a NATO secret security clearance
Role requires being deployed with the RCAF to expeditionary locations around the globe and to a forward operating location in the arctic in support of MQ-9B operations
