Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Avionics Technician to join CAE in support of the MQ-9B SkyGuardian Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) program. This program is the first of its kind delivered to the RCAF and offers a unique opportunity for you to bring your expertise and dedication to work on this groundbreaking aviation system. The successful candidate will maintain the MQ-9B Certified Ground Control Station (CGCS) and SkyGuardian Mission Trainer (SMT) in support of RCAF MQ-9B operations from the Ground Control Centre (GCC) in the National Capital Region of Ottawa, Ontario.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Inspect, maintain, repair, and test RPAS Certified Ground Control Station and simulator systems, including computers, terminals, and networking infrastructureRemove and replace line replaceable units and componentsEnsure the accurate completion of technical recordsPerform specialty work in maintenance shops as requiredInterpret technical publications and diagramsMaintain tools and equipment required to perform primary dutiesOrder aircraft spare parts and materialsDebrief Team Lead as requiredCarry out workplace inspections and clean upsComply with safety, quality, airworthiness, and technical policies and proceduresWork shifts on a routine basis and overtime when neededTravel for essential trainingMandatory qualifications
Transport Canada approved Aviation Technician - Avionics Maintenance Diploma or Canadian Forces Avionics (AVS) Technician QualificationPossession of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering License with an E rating OR be a Canadian Forces Journeyman Avionics (AVS) TechnicianAt least 5 years of first- and second-line aircraft maintenance related experienceProven experience as a team playerStrong communication skillsBe able to work shiftsPossess a valid driver’s license.Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen, a Permanent Resident or with a valid Work PermitCapable of obtaining and maintaining both Controlled Goods Clearance and a NATO secret security clearanceDesirable Skills & Experience
