Job Purpose:
The Strategy and MPS Lead will head up the organization responsible for the critical elements for our site MPS, strategy and project/portfolio management. The Strategy and MPS lead is a member of the Singapore Site Leadership (SLT) team. In this role, the lead is responsible for the following core objectives:
Steward and driver of site MPS foundations roadmap and MPS standards. Responsible for driving
standardization, continuous improvement, value delivery and sustainment across the site.
Oversees site transformation (via site hoshin) through disciplined, focused execution and realization of transformation initiatives.
Maintains overall site portfolio comprising Run the Business (RtB) and Transformation initiatives, and site governance structure for initiatives execution.
People capability development and standards management for L&D sitewide.
Site level project management and execution for key strategic initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities:
The core responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
Site Leadership Team member
Serve as engaged Site Leadership team member with a “Board of Directors” mindset to provide close support of day-to-day activities at the site.
Through the team, serve as the steward for key site activities associated with MPS and strategy i.e. governance forums, strategic communications, Tiers, site scorecard etc.
MPS Leadership
Serve as MPS lead for the Singapore site, with direct responsibility for management and coaching of site MPS associates.
Custodian of site MPS Foundations roadmap, with responsibility for engaging stakeholders on development of long-term roadmap along with alignment on execution sponsorship. Maintain integrity of site KPI tree.
Through MPS team, drive standardization and consistency across all operating areas in terms of MPS standards deployment (e.g. Tier, Problem Solving, LSW) in a fit for purpose manner.
Drive value realization and delivery for the site in terms of productivity and waste reduction through continuous improvement initiatives within each IPT operating area.
Engage the site population in upskilling of MPS mindset and drive innovation, experimentation through site forums like MPS Hour.
Site Strategy Development and Realization
Lead the Site SLT through transformation strategy development and execution and provide input to the long-term site Hoshin plan.
Conducts yearly hoshin renewal and refresh for long term strategy setting, along with annual site priorities/key deliverables based off Division and OpU priorities
Serve as the owner of Site Portfolio Governance Council, with responsibilities including but not limited to strategic initiatives portfolio management, initiatives deep dive reviews and driving innovative/transformative thinking across the Site SLT.
Manages the tracking associated with strategy deployment activities and progress within the site, including update and publication of Site Scorecard.
Works with Site Communications lead to develop a thoughtful approach for engagement of site personnel around site strategy and progress update on site priorities and deliverables.
Learning and Development (L&D)
Manage the site L&D organization to provide strong support for L&D across all operating areas at the site.
Serve as sponsor for L&D activities to upskill and enhance employee effectiveness in core areas such as Enterprise Leadership Skills linked to site Hoshin plan.
Provide change execution management for site strategic/transformation initiatives through the Strategic Realization Framework (SRF).
Minimum Required Education, Experience:
B.S./M.S. in a relevant technical field such as Engineering, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Science
Minimum of 10 years of experience in biopharmaceutical manufacturing, preferably a majority spent in Operations, Technical, Quality or Business Consulting roles.
Preference for at least 4 years of experience of people leadership at workgroup or departmental level.
Technical/Functional Skills:
MPS Foundational Competencies: Apply level proficiency in MPS 5 foundational competences and other core MPS skillsets.
Understanding of Business Systems: Strong understanding of MPS, business systems, financial acumen, and ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment.
Collaborative and Talent-Building Skills: Ability to work and think strategically, engaging with different levels of site leaders to execute strategy and drive results.
Experience with Strategic Initiatives: Experience with deployment and governance of strategic initiatives within a department or site level.
Passion for Innovation and Experimentation: Strong passion for innovation and experimentation.
