Job Summary
The College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA) is seeking a dedicated and reliable individual for the position of Mover I within its Facilities and Operations department. As a key member of the LSA Moving and Support Services team, the Mover I plays a vital role in supporting the operational needs of various LSA units. Responsibilities include the relocation and setup of furniture and equipment, classroom support and maintenance, and event setup support for a wide range of college functions. This role requires a motivated individual with strong customer service skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities*Move office, department, and apartment furniture such as desks, cabinets, stoves, refrigerators, and beds.Stage classroom furniture and equipment.Configure, disassemble, and reassemble furnitureAssemble and install partitions, whiteboards, keyboard trays, etc.Move large Dewar flasks such as liquid helium, nitrogen, or other gas mixtures.Transport stock and equipmentOperate motor vehicles such as vans, pick-ups, and single-unit (box) trucks.Provide customer service to department standardsClean the assigned area of work and equipmentSupport all Mover II activitiesRequired Qualifications*High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experienceMust be able to read and write EnglishMust be able to routinely move furniture, equipment, etc., weighing up to 50 lbs. across campus and in and out of a truckMust have a valid driver's licenseMust be able to pass the DOT exam within three monthsMust have previous experience working on furniture and seating in an educational setting, including the ability to configure, disassemble, and reassemble office furnitureMust be able to demonstrate previous experience using power toolsDesired Qualifications*One year of experience in classroom support-related positionsDemonstrated ability to communicate effectively with Staff and FacultyExtensive knowledge of LSA facilities and classroomsExperience using a variety of power and hand toolsKnowledge of moving office equipment and furnitureExperience working in a team conceptExcellent customer service and communication skillsExperience with moving and setting up event spacesWork ScheduleMonday through Friday, 6 or 7:00 a.m. to 2:30 or 3:30 p.m. (To be determined)
Modes of WorkPositions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Additional InformationWage Rate: $24.35- $24.98/ hour or $50,710.40 - $51,958.40/year
