The Motorsports Mechanic Associate would have an important role on the Corvette Racing Team and have responsibilities both at the shop and track.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND SKILLS:  Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Mechanical Expectations

-Ensure accountability to team and company objectives

-Use and understand the resources available to complete job tasks

-Align processes and quality of work with overall team expectation

-Look for opportunities for improvement and plan to realize improvements

-Develop and refine the use of shop tools and processes to accurately and properly assemble components and systems of the racecars

Vehicle Preparation

-Work with Car Chiefs to learn tasks in and around the car, the shop and the racetrack

-Work closely with Car Chiefs and Mechanics to learn all aspects of the car preparation and take all opportunities to better your personal development

-Develop an understanding of subsystems of the cars, thru maintenance as well as technical drawings and prints

-Car assemblies to the prints and engineering requirements

-Car wrapping as needed in the shop and at the track

-Focus on learning and enhancing understanding of the vehicle systems

Trackside Execution

-Pit Set up and Teardown

-Tasks in the paddock to support the mechanics and race team as they prepare the racecars

-Pit stop execution

-Additional team tasks (setup/teardown/etc.)

Shop Execution

-Organization and cleanliness of work area

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

In addition to the responsibilities mentioned above, tasks relating to the following area will be assigned as required:

-Support Pratt Miller initiatives, marketing events, and general development as necessary

-Monthly meetings with the Operation Manager on goals and future progress

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Desired Education:

-High School diploma with mechanical training classes

-Achieve program goals and strive to continuously improve

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

-Stress may occur periodically

-Long hours may be required at times

-Physical labor is a regular part of daily work

-Travel of up to 60% is required

-Develop and refine team-oriented mindset

Pay Range:

$56,600.00 - $88,400.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
