Motorsports Aero Supervisor

Are you ready to change the way the world moves? **In this position...** Ford Performance is seeking an experienced, talented and highly motivated Aerodynamics Engineer to lead aerodynamic development across all Ford Performance Motorsports platforms within the Performance Engineering Group. You will lead aerodynamic development for Ford Performance Motorsports including CFD, wind tunnel, and track testing. The Aerodynamics Supervisor will be responsible for managing the Aero team, defining wind tunnel testing programs and practices, directing CFD projects as well as supporting track testing and data analysis. The successful candidate will ensure continuous improvement of performance and process to achieve industry leading aerodynamic development across all Ford Performance Motorsports disciplines, including, but not limited to NASCAR, Sports Car, Demonstrators, NHRA and Off-Road. What you’ll do: **Team Leadership and Management** + Build and lead a high-performing aerodynamics team, promoting a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence across multiple disciplines + Lead the development and implementation of methodologies, and processes to enhance aerodynamic performance + Mentor and develop team members by providing regular feedback, fostering growth, and creating opportunities for learning and advancement + Effectively delegate tasks while maintaining oversight to ensure project success and alignment with organizational goals + Define, communicate and guide the team to meet objectives, aligning technical goals with the overall vision of the Performance Engineering Group + Oversee the design, testing, and optimization of aerodynamic components on multiple concurrent programs, ensuring projects are delivered on time and exceed performance expectations **Innovation & Technical Expertise** + Analyze data from CFD simulations, wind tunnel testing, and on-track tests to identify and optimize aerodynamic performance + Drive innovation and inspire team to solve problems with realistic, logical and implementable solutions + Leverage expertise with aerodynamic tools and data analysis to refine processes for maximum efficiency and performance + Spearhead integration of ML & AI throughout toolsets, vehicle testing and data analysis to improve data correlation and results turnaround time + Leverage new and emerging technologies to improve efficiency in CFD, tunnel and track testing **Communication & Collaboration** + Identify and clearly explain results, ensuring stakeholders understand implications + Provide data backed recommendations through development and during performance optimization + Integrate with Performance Engineering group to ensure aerodynamic concepts are conveyed to other departments to improve overall vehicle performance + Foster strong relationships with the design studio, vehicle dynamics, performance engineering, powertrain and program teams to ensure seamless integration and total vehicle performance + Collaborate with internal Ford aero teams to improve methodologies, processes and results across all tools including CFD, wind tunnel and vehicle testing + Leverage the pace of motorsports to increase efficiency and consolidation of tools throughout Ford aero teams + Facilitate and support communication within the Aero team across projects, leveraging lessons learned to deliver solutions faster and with improved performance **You’ll have:** + 10+ years of related experience in the motorsports industry + Bachelor’s degree or higher with specialization in Aerodynamics or equivalent + Strong knowledge of aerodynamic principles, wind tunnel testing, CFD and track testing + Ability to lead and motivate a team of engineers + Excellent communication and organization skills with ability to prioritize effectively + Strong ability and desire to work collaboratively with multiple groups and personnel across numerous disciplines + Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills + Passion for motorsports and a commitment to excellence + Willingness to travel internationally and domestically, including weekends **Even better, you may have:** + Proven track record of successful project management, including experience managing complex projects with cross-functional teams + Prior experience leading and working within a fast-paced, collaborative environment + Deep understanding of mechanical design, manufacturing processes, and data analysis techniques + Strong knowledge of Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) principles and applications You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!
