Summary About the position: The purpose of this position is to operate motor vehicles with a gross vehicle weight of less than 26,000 pounds for the Auto Hobby Complex, Misawa AB, Japan. This is a FLEX position with zero guaranteed hours, but could work up to 40 hours per week depending on the needs of the facility. Military Spouse Preference IS NOT lost. Responsibilities Operates and performs operator maintenance on one or more vehicles to include: passenger vans cargo vans tow trucks forklifts Operates vehicles through all kinds of traffice, or over rough terrain, depending upon the type of vehicle veing used Loads and unloads cargo by hand Exercises caution in preventing overloading and in securing cargo to prevent damage or loss in transit and for the safety and comfort of passengers Determines shortest and safest routes Observes safety rules, regulations, and posted traffic controls and highway guide signs Washing vehicles Performs other related duties as assigned Work mostly outside and in all kinds of weather If interested in this position please preview the online application: https://apply.usastaffing.gov/ViewQuestionnaire/12782505 Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Who May Apply: Open to everyone. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience: Must have skill in maneuvering and driving vehicles weighing less than 26,000 pounds. Must have knowledge of sizes and weights of vehicles Must possess valid driver's license and 4EJ license Must be able to frequently handle objects weighin up to 50 pounds Must be able to exert light physical effort in reaching, bending, turning, or moving hands, feet, and legs to operate hand and foot controls. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. All Federal NAF employees are required by PL 104-134 to have salary payments made by electronic funds transfer/direct deposit. Probationary period may be required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from hiring preferences and priority consideration eligible.
