**CTG is seeking to fill a Mortgage Processor I opening for our client in New York.**
**Location:** Remote
**Duration:** 4 months
**Overview:**
The Mortgage Processor I ensures new loan applications are prepared for processing or underwriting in accordance with M&T Bank's standard turnaround times. This role performs a variety of duties, both clerical and technical, to support the loan process.
**Primary Responsibilities:**
• Maintain effective communication with all necessary parties involved in a new loan application, including customers, brokers, correspondents, loan officers, and co-workers
• Work with various internal departments and external organizations to gather processing documentation such as Verification of Employment, IRS transcripts, title search, appraisals, and FHA case assignments
• Immediately notify all relevant parties of any irregularities related to standard mortgage guidelines
• Prepare and/or reconcile required reports
• Monitor incoming loan conditions and assess documentation for loan system updates
• Review systems to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and guidelines
• Adhere to applicable compliance and operational risk controls
• Promote an inclusive and diverse environment reflective of the M&T Bank brand
• Maintain internal control standards and address audit or regulatory findings as needed
• Perform other related duties as assigned
**Scope of Responsibilities:**
• Collaborate closely with internal and external customers including borrowers, co-workers, loan officers, brokers, and correspondents
**Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:**
• None
**Education and Experience Required:**
• High School diploma or GED
• One year of prior experience in clerical, customer service, operations, or the financial services industry
• Proficient with PC applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and email
• Ability to make sound decisions based on provided information
• Understanding of product, investor, and compliance requirements
• Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced mortgage environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
**Education and Experience Preferred:**
• Associate’s Degree

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $18.00 to $25.76 per hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
