**CTG is seeking to fill a Mortgage Closing Specialist I opening for our client in New York.**
**Location:** Remote
**Duration:** 6 months
**Overview:**
The Mortgage Closing Specialist I serves as the liaison for gathering and submitting all required information for Closing Disclosure (CD) issuance. This role requires close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accuracy of loan data, compliance with state and federal guidelines, and timely closings.
**Primary Responsibilities:**
+ Assign and review pipeline reporting for title reviewers and manage title review box.
+ Communicate effectively with customers, brokers, correspondents, settlement agents, loan officers, and other internal departments to ensure seamless closings.
+ Collect, review, and verify closing-related documentation, including payoffs, subordinations, releases, taxes, and homeowner/flood information.
+ Perform thorough file reviews for compliance with state and federal regulations; complete verbal verification of employment for income-qualified borrowers.
+ Monitor rate lock and document expirations.
+ Ensure system of record information is accurate and complete for CD issuance.
+ Collaborate with settlement agents to obtain fees and contact information for CD preparation.
+ Track close dates, escalating changes as needed while ensuring proper communication to all parties.
+ Adhere to compliance and operational risk controls, as well as internal audit standards.
+ Support diversity initiatives and uphold brand values.
+ Complete other related duties as assigned.
**Scope of Responsibilities:**
Work directly with internal teams, external customers, borrower(s), and settlement agents to support the loan closing process.
**Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:**
None.
**Education and Experience Required:**
+ Proficiency with Encompass required.
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail and reliability.
+ Associate degree plus a minimum of 1 year prior business experience, or 1 year combined mortgage closing and customer service experience; in lieu of degree, 3 years combined higher education and/or work experience, including 1 year prior business experience or 1 year combined closing and customer service experience.
+ Strong PC skills, including spreadsheet, word processing, and email software.
+ Ability to make sound decisions based on available information.
+ Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to prioritize workload.
+ Flexible and adaptable to changing policies, procedures, and deadlines.
+ Team-oriented with a strong work ethic.
**Education and Experience Preferred:**
+ Prior mortgage closing experience with a lender, title company, or settlement agent.
+ Knowledge of mortgage products, investor requirements, and compliance standards.
+ Familiarity with industry software.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $18.00 to $28.11/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
