**CTG is seeking to fill a Mortgage Closing Specialist I opening for our client in New York.**
**Location:** Remote
**Duration:** 5 months
**Rate:** $18.00 - $28.11 per hour depending on experience
**Overview:**
The Mortgage Closing Specialist I will act as a liaison for gathering information for the issuance of Closing Disclosures (CDs). This role involves collaborating with internal and external parties to meet closing deadlines, managing task pipelines, and ensuring the accuracy of documentation related to homeowners insurance, taxes, payoffs, and third-party fees.
**Primary Responsibilities:**
+ Assign and manage pipeline reporting to title reviewers and review title review inbox.
+ Maintain clear and effective communication with all parties involved in the closing process to ensure a seamless experience.
+ Work with internal departments and external organizations to collect necessary closing documentation (e.g., payoffs, subordinations, tax/title info).
+ Conduct thorough file reviews to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
+ Obtain verbal verification of employment for all income-qualified borrowers.
+ Follow up on document and rate lock expirations.
+ Review system data to confirm CD readiness and accuracy.
+ Proactively communicate with Settlement Agents to gather fees and contact info for CD preparation.
+ Monitor and evaluate close dates to meet target timelines, and notify stakeholders of any changes.
+ Adhere to compliance and risk controls aligned with company and regulatory policies.
+ Support diversity and the company brand through professional representation.
+ Perform other related duties as assigned.
**Scope of Responsibilities:**
Works closely with both internal and external stakeholders including borrowers, co-workers, and Settlement Agents.
**Education and Experience Required:**
+ Experience preparing Closing Disclosures and Closing Packages.
+ Associate degree and at least 1 year of prior business experience, or 1 year of combined M&T closing and customer service experience.
+ In lieu of a degree: 3 years of combined higher education and/or work experience, including at least 1 year of related experience.
+ Proficiency with spreadsheet, word processing, and email applications.
+ Strong decision-making and organizational skills.
+ Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work within time constraints.
+ Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
+ Strong work ethic and team collaboration skills.
**Education and Experience Preferred:**
+ Prior mortgage closing experience at a lender, title company, or settlement office.
+ Familiarity with department-specific software.
+ Knowledge of product, investor, and compliance requirements.
+ Experience using the Encompass operating system is preferred.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $18.00 to $28.11/hourly. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
