MOONLIGHTER-BMT

JOB SUMMARY

The BMTCI Physician Moonlighter practices medicine within the scope of authority and privileges granted by Moffitt Cancer Center by providing patient care under the auspices of Moffitt Medical Group; serving as member of the academic medical enterprise; and advancing the institutional mission of contributing to the prevention and cure of cancer.  The BMTCI Physician Moonlighter remains in house for the duration of each shift.  He/she is responsible for night and/or weekend coverage of inpatient BMTCI patients as well as assisting in fielding Triage calls from BMTCI patients from outside of hospital. The position supports patient care and patient safety.  The BMTCI Physician Moonlighter will evaluate and manage patient and staff patients with the BMTCI Attending.   He/she is responsible for discussing new admissions and clinical care issues that arise on inpatients during the shift with the treating inpatient team and attending physician. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: MD/DO or equivalent, required  Licensure/Certification: MD/DO DEA BLS/ACLS Minimum Experience Required: Satisfactory completion of an accredited internal medicine residency program. Preferred experience in the management of oncology patients and prior experience in a BMTCI in-patient clinical practice setting is preferred. 

 

JOB COMPONENTS

 Job Specific Duties: Provide care to BMT and ICE-T patients under the supervision of the BMT and ICE-T attendings Perform admissions, appropriate orders, progress notes, EHR appropriate orders, handoff and patient assessment and reassessment, as well as discharges as appropriate under the supervision of the BMT and ICE-T attendings Conform and adhere to all applicable policies and procedures covering physician practices and practice within BMTCI.
