Key Responsibilities:
Routine and special staining proceduresCorrectly identifies, accessions, labels, prepares, and processes all pathology specimens in accordance with laboratory policies and proceduresPerforms advanced histochemistry and immunohistochemistry protocols and has advanced knowledge of techniqueMohs and routine frozen sections as required in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of pathologic conditions on patients of all agesAssists staff pathologists in the grossing laboratoryParticipation in Quality Assurance, Quality Control monitoring, and instrument maintenanceParticipates in training new employees, students, and other personnel as appropriate trainingServes on committees and teams as needed or assigned, actively participating in meetings and completing tasks or assignmentsSupports and implements patient safety and other safety practices as appropriateEducational Requirements
Graduate of an associate degree in HistotechnicianAND
Baccalaureate degree from and accredited college/university with a combination of 30 semester hours (45 quarter hours) of biology and chemistry (must include credit hours in both)OR
Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college/university with a combination of 30 semester hours (45 quarter hours) of biology and chemistry (must include credit hours in both)Preferred Qualifications:
