Modernization Technician - Elevators & Escalators

KONE Middle East & Africa (KMEA) is embarking upon an exciting growth phase through a direct presence in 10 countries with a regional head office in Dubai and more than 60 distributor markets within the region.

We are looking for a modernization technician with a service mindset who can provide professional service to our customers in Dubai, UAE. In this role, you will be at the core of KONE - an everyday hero who makes people's lives easier. You will work towards ensuring quality service, improving equipment safety and performance, and promoting regular and proactive on-site communication with the customer and the people using the equipment. As a modernization technician, you will be installing mechanical and electrical components, troubleshooting, and attending call-outs.

Responsibilities:

Customer Relationship Management

Oversee the installation environment during modernization activities and manage on-site communication with customers regarding day-to-day installation and logistical matters.

Responsible for customer satisfaction through quality of service and regular, proactive, and precise on-site communication.

Responsible for accurate and real-time back reporting of work performed (at the equipment level).

Accountable for equipment safety and performance.

Accountable for identifying site risks and communicating them to the supervisor.

Accountable to take immediate action on-site in case of high-risk identification and to apply the escalation procedure.

Accountable for identifying additional modernization requirements based on the equipment needs.

Modernization Operations

Accountable for the end-users' and site personnel's safety.

Ensure a safe working environment within the work area, including storage spaces

Ensure modernization tasks are completed according to KONE methods and standards.

Accountable for the execution of the modernization scope, respecting the schedule, the quality standards, the time allocation, and the processes.

Accountable for very precise and timely back reporting of the work done according to the process and submitting timesheets based on the execution.

Report site progress to the supervisor and address any shortage or damage by ordering replacement parts promptly.

Responsible for keeping the installation tools, vehicle, instruments, etc., safe, maintained, and in good condition

Secure the delivered equipment through proper storage and handling.

Perform installation and replacement of mechanical and electrical components as part of the modernization scope.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to equipment performance and safety.

Requirements

ITI/Vocational Certificate course /Diploma Engineering in Electrical/Electronics/Automation streams or equivalent.

Good verbal and written English communication skills.

Candidates with basic IT skills will be given preference.

Candidates with basic digital foundation skills will be the right candidates for this position.

Minimum 5 years of solid Preventive Maintenance experience with a reputed elevator company is a must.

Experience in the installation and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical components.
