Job Title: Mobility Program Counselor
Location: White Plains, NY
Type: Contract To Hire
Compensation: $21.16/Hour
Contractor Work Model: Onsite
Hours: 8:30a-5p, Mon-Fri Description
Assist with recruiting families and property owners to participate in the Mobility Counseling program
Conduct informational briefings for interested families and property owners on program requirements and goals
Enter intake survey data and schedule assessments using SharePoint
Provide pre-counseling and support with apartment searches in opportunity areas
Prepare and organize client files for review, scanning, and recordkeeping
Collaborate with tenants to develop Personalized Action Plans (PAPs) and make referrals to appropriate services
Monitor progress of tenants' PAPs and update SharePoint accordingly
Communicate concerns and updates to the Mobility Counseling Program Director and Coordinator
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of participant attributes
Participate in regular team meetings to share progress, challenges, and successes
Handle confidential and sensitive information in accordance with program policies
Perform general administrative support tasks including filing, copying, printing, mailing, and office organization
Execute additional duties as assigned
QualificationsBachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, social services, human services, education, or a related field; OR
High school diploma and four years of full-time experience delivering direct services in human or social services
Effective verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking
Familiarity with Mobility Counseling programs and applicable regulations
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable using data systems like SharePoint
High level of discretion, professionalism, and ethical judgment
Capacity to build positive working relationships across departments and with clients
Demonstrated qualities in adaptability, inclusiveness, motivation, service-mindedness, and teamwork
Must pass Determination of Adjusted Income and Rent Calculation exams within 90 days of hire
Certification in Housing Choice Voucher Proficiency required within 90 days of hire
Willingness to attend ongoing training and development seminars as required
