As our Senior Mobile Game Designer, you will drive the development of our cross-play mobile experience. You will define what a best-in-class mobile free-to-play experience looks like and lead the team to bring it to life, balancing the complexities of a multi-platform title. Your expertise in mobile game design and live operations will drive player engagement and retention across devices.


The Senior Mobile Game Designer reports to the Lead Technical Designer.

Responsibilities

Work with a mobile strike team to ensure key core-loop  feature parity between mobile and other platforms and a cohesive cross-platform player experience

Design solutions and propose alternatives for features that are not possible or supported on mobile

Oversee the ongoing integration of new features and mechanics, ensuring quality and consistency across platforms by representing the needs of the mobile player to the wider team

Work alongside mobile input / gameplay designers to ensure moment-to-moment experiences align with metagame expectations

Design and refine mobile-specific FTUE (First Time User Experience) and onboarding flows

Partner with the Design Director and Lead Designers to advocate for the mobile player experience within the overall metagame and progression systems

Partner closely with UX and UI designers to ensure cohesion and consistency in the mobile experience

Establish and maintain structured content guidelines for mobile, including evaluating the need for bespoke content and managing the impact of difficulty discrepancies between platforms

Design and implement strategies for integrating seasonal content on mobile, ensuring consistency and fairness in cross-progression and cross-platform play

Qualifications

5+ years game design experience, or show equivalent knowledge

At least 3 years of experience in mobile designing and implementing features

Strong understanding of mobile onboarding and retention and how to design an experience that fits into a player’s daily routine

Experience with what makes mobile free to play games successful through current free-to-play mechanics, fundamentals, and trends

Nice to Have: Strong interest in skate and social sandbox games with an understanding of how they work


COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). 

PAY RANGES

* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$111,600 - $152,800 CAD

 In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, and extended health/dental/vision coverage and basic life insurance.
