Salary: £37,000 – £50,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a long-established engineering business specialising in the service and installation of process gas appliances within the food and wider process industries. With decades of industry expertise and long-standing client relationships, they are expanding their engineering team and seeking a skilled and motivated Mobile Commercial / Industrial Gas Engineer.

The role offers an excellent opportunity for someone who is technically minded, eager to develop, and looking to join a company that heavily invests in the training and progression of its engineers.

As a Mobile Gas Engineer, you will work as part of a nationwide service team, covering various customer sites across the UK.

The ideal candidate will be based in Greater Manchester and surrounding areas.

You will be responsible for the service, maintenance, fault finding, repair and installation of a wide range of gas equipment, including forced draught burners, atmospheric systems, gas pipework and associated controls. The position requires flexibility to travel, stay away overnight, and work weekends as part of the on-call and overtime rota.

This is a hands-on role with regular interaction with clients and their equipment, often in high-demand food production environments. You will be supported by an in-house training programme that meets current health and safety standards while developing your skills further.

Key responsibilities
Servicing and fault-finding on a variety of gas burner systemsInstalling and commissioning gas appliances and controlsCarrying out repairs and maintenance on industrial and commercial gas systemsCompleting digital service reports accurately and in a timely mannerWorking to high safety standards across food and process industry sitesParticipating in a nationwide on-call rota and occasional weekend workTravelling to sites across the UK, with overnight stays as requiredRequirements
ACS qualifications for commercial/industrial gas (e.g. COCN1 or CODNCO1, ICPN1, TPCP1, CIGA1, CDGA1, CORT1)Proven experience in installation, servicing, and breakdowns within the industrial or commercial gas sectorFull UK driving licence and valid passportWillingness to travel nationally and work flexible hours, including weekends and overnight staysStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independentlyDesirable qualifications and experience
Additional ACS qualifications including LPG, ComCat 1 & 3, BMP1, TPCP1/A, CPA1, CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1Electrical qualifications and/or experienceSPA Food Industry Safety Passport, IPAF, PASMA, Confined Space or Asbestos awarenessMechanical and pipework installation experience, ideally in food or process industriesSalary and benefits
