We are actively searching for an experienced and energetic individual to become Bar Server at MKT Bar of Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco.
This is Union Extra / On-Call Position.
BASIC PURPOSE:
Serve guest needs by providing exceptional knowledge of wine spirits, and mixed drinks as well as information regarding preparation methods.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Describe the selection of beverage menu items to guests by offering interesting, and vivid descriptions of each item’s, origin, taste, and preparation methods; maintain food & menu knowledge for items offered in the lounge; communicate guest orders including any special needs or requests to the bartender using the hotel’s point-of-sales system; check completed orders with the guest’s original order; transport items to the guest table in a timely manner.
Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, offer suggestions, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests.
Properly and accurately close guest checks; process cash and credit card payments; properly settle voided checks or complimentary items.
Breakdown, clean, and set-up up tables and drink stations.
Comply with Four Seasons’ Category One and Category Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in EmPact.
Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Carry trays of food
Assist with bar inventory
Stocking paper and bar supplies
Qualifications and Skills:
Experience working a minimum of 2-3 years in Food & Beverage and previous experience as a server
Advanced Wine, spirits, and beverage knowledge is a must - Candidates will be evaluated on their knowledge
Thrive working in a fast-paced, and large team environment
Preferred experience in a luxury hotel or resort
Must be flexible with a schedule - Able to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays shifts
Strong oral presentation skills
Ability to carry and balance a tray
Ability to accurately process cash and credit card transactions
Ability to multi-task in a high volume and demanding environment
Strong problem-solving skills, ability to handle difficult situations and guests
