The Mission Critical Project Manager is responsible for leading and delivering Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) and Building/Industrial Controls projects in complex, mission-critical environments such as data centers. This role ensures successful project execution from scope definition and planning through commissioning and closeout, while maintaining schedule, budget, quality, and client satisfaction. The PM collaborates with engineering, field services, and commissioning teams to drive technical performance while managing risks, resources, and stakeholder expectations.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or related technical field.
Experience: 5+ years of project management experience in EPMS, BMS, SCADA, or controls systems, preferably in mission-critical or data center environments. PMP Certification or equivalent preferred.
Travel Requirements: Up to 50%
Work Schedule: This position works between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday- Friday . However, work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the delivery of EPMS and controls projects from initiation through closeout.
Coordinate internal and external resources across engineering, construction, commissioning, and client teams.
Own the project lifecycle including kickoff, planning, design reviews, procurement, commissioning, and final turnover.
Develop and manage detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
Monitor project progress against scope, milestones, and financial targets.
Identify and document change orders; manage scope deviations in collaboration with stakeholders.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
Facilitate regular status meetings and reports to ensure transparency and alignment.
Maintain effective communication and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure alignment of engineering deliverables with project requirements.
Support commissioning and testing activities in collaboration with CSI and QA/QC teams.
Participate in site walks, design reviews, and factory/systems acceptance testing as needed.
Proactively identify project risks and develop mitigation plans.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and quality standards.
Drive continuous improvement through post-project reviews and lessons learned.
Maintain complete and accurate project documentation including submittals, RFIs, meeting minutes, and financial reports.
Provide timely reporting to internal leadership and client stakeholders.
Proven track record of managing projects exceeding $10M in value with full P&L responsibility.
Strong understanding of electrical power distribution, control systems integration, and commissioning processes.
Proficient with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent) and documentation platforms.
Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
