Questions or need assistance with application: 406-869-8318 The main purpose and function of the Mine Manager is to develop and coordinate cost- The main purpose and function of the Mining Engineer position is to design cost effective mining plans and monitor cost effective execution in accordance with specifications and business demands. Specific responsibilities may include: + Develops and communicates stripping, stacking and reclamation models/plans to management and mine operations to assure compliance with the mining and reclamation requirements. + Responsible for pit design and general mine engineering, including special mine support projects as assigned. + Assist in collection of all information necessary for mine planning, execution, and analysis. + Coordinates survey work, as assigned, and ensures surveys are performed accurately. + Ensure appropriate consideration is given to safety and environmental concerns. + Work under general supervision with considerable independent decision-making. + Responsible for vehicles, equipment, and supplies necessary to perform job. + Interact with all department managers and company officers. + Participate in all mining meetings. + Embraces and outwardly supports the company’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values. + Regularly coaches and provides both strength-centered and constructive feedback to employees on goal progress and competencies. + Encourages and supports career goals of employees; helps to create plans, offer resources and create or suggest opportunities for growth. + Transfer knowledge and experience about process, project and recent issues to employees and others involved outside the team or department. + Participate in the Quality Management System by complying with the Quality Policy, Procedures, and Continual Improvement Process to reach the organization’s Quality goals and objectives. + Other duties as assigned. Requirements: Education and training: + Bachelors Degree in Mining Engineering or related field preferred. Experience: + Open pit mining experience preferred. + Knowledge of Geology and application. + Supervisory experience a plus. Knowledge and Skills: + Knowledge of MS Office including Access and Mining software platforms. + CAD and ArcGIS experience preferred. + Ability to complete reports/records in a timely manner. + Knowledge of land surveying methods and techniques. + Basic operational and mechanical experience with light duty trucks. + Frequent travel: valid driver’s license required. + Ability to maintain a safe, clean, environmentally sound work area. + Record keeping. + Ability to share information, transfer knowledge and seek input. + Excellent employee management, leadership, coaching and motivation skills. + Demonstrates clear, concise and relevant communication (verbal and written) across all departments and shares information. + Listens effectively; is approachable and creates an open environment. + Problem solving skills: ability to identify source of problem; execute solution and document the issue; escalate to management. + Approach all interactions and work situations in a positive and respectful manner.
