The Caterpillar MineStar Application Specialist is a mine site-based role where you can work hand in hand with our customers. In this role, you will ensure the Command for Hauling equipment and system is working at its optimum performance using your specialist knowledge and experience. You will troubleshoot issues in the field, and work with a multidisciplinary team to rectify any faults. You also have the ability to identify improvement opportunities and work with the Caterpillar engineering team to drive product improvements.


This role will be well suited to someone who thrives on challenges and enjoys driving continual improvement. Full product training will be provided as part of your on boarding process, including our on-board networks/machine control systems and how to troubleshoot them. Training program is tailored to the individual, which may include classroom training, on the job training and mentoring.

What you will do:
•     Implementing MineStar® Command and maximize system performance.

Become a trusted advisor for the customer through close collaboration internally and externally.

Support and advise MineStar® Command Office Supervisors, Builders, Controllers and Pit Technicians in all aspects of Minestar® system performance, including minimizing downtime.

Measure, benchmark and report on MineStar® Command System performance, and suggest opportunities for improvements.

Developing training and process material.

Manage machine and system integration.

What skills you will have:

Technical Excellence: Knowledge of mining technology products and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.

Field Support: Experience in providing post-sales support and maintaining hardware products.

Problem Solving: Ability to recognize, anticipate, and resolve organizational, operational, or process problems effectively.

Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a complex team.

Analytical Skills: Analytical skills that can be used to troubleshoot electronic systems to understand root cause.


Top Candidates will also have:
A degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Mining Engineering.

Motivated self-starter capable of working with others to complete all tasks accountable to them on time.
Knowledge of mining technology products and product applications, including Fleet Management systems.

Experience at a mine-site in a camp environment on a roster.

Additional Information:

This role is a customer site-based position located at a mine site near Fort McMurray, Alberta.
The schedule is a 14 on /14 off days & nights roster.

Carpooling or bussing is provided to and from site, a camp option close to site is available.
Sponsorship is not available.
Relocation is available for this position.

Applicants will assume this position at the applicable salary grade according to Caterpillar's Training Track standard process.
