About Cadia
Our Cadia Valley Operation in New South Wales is situated about 25 kilometers from Orange and 250 kilometers west of Sydney. Cadia produces gold doré bars from a gravity circuit and gold-rich copper concentrates from a flotation circuit. The operation includes the Cadia East Mine which is globally renowned for its use of block caving, a large-scale underground mining method.

Who we’re looking for
Reporting to the Supervisor Geology Projects, The Mine Geologist will provide geological expertise to production, development mining and drilling operations at Cadia Valley Operations.
The Mine Geologist will demonstrate absolute commitment to safety by supporting the Safety Management System, ensuring an Always Safe work culture, and applying site standards, procedures, and policies.
Other responsibilities include:
Underground geological mapping, including 3D photogrammetry techniquesUpdating 3D structural and lithological interpretations. Deliver robust, well scoped and risk assessed grade forecasts and stockpile strategies to achieve business objectives.Maximise value at Cadia by tracking grade variance to forecast, and investigating and closing out anomalies in a timely manner.Contributing to the reconciliation process, including reporting and investigation, ensuring the on-time release of concise monthly reconciliation reporting data.Administration and supervision of underground diamond drilling.Providing accurate and timely geological information as required by the broader technical services team.
The ideal applicant will have experience in underground mapping, grade control and reconciliation. Candidates with underground experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
You will also possess the following:
A relevant degree or tertiary qualification in Geology or Earth ScienceExperience with geological interpretation and generation of geological models.Experience with grade forecasting and reconciliation.Experience with drill hole design and contractor supervisionCompetency in geological or mine planning software packages; experience using Leapfrog, Point Studio and Deswik is desirableA valid Open Manual Australian driver’s licence
