**Description**
**General Summary**
Installs new machines or heavy equipment and dismantles and installs machines or heavy equipment when changes in the plant layout are required.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
+ Planning and laying out work
+ Interpreting blueprints or other specifications
+ Using a variety of hand tools and rigging
+ Makes standard shop computations relating to stresses, strength of materials, and centers of gravity,
+ Aligns and balances equipment,
+ Selects standard tools, equipment and parts to be used
+ Installs and maintains good order power transmission equipment such as drives and speed reducers
**Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements**
+ Well rounded training and experience in the trade acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
**Work Environment**
+ Must be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop and kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, stand for long periods of time, constant arm extensions
+ Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc., but non to the point of being disagreeable. May involve minor safety hazards where likely result would be cuts, bruises, etc.
